Orthodox Churches in Jacksonville, Florida

In 1907 a visiting priest from Savannah, Georgia, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the homes of Jacksonville's Greek residents. St. John the Divine, chartered on November 2, 1916, calls itself the third-oldest Greek Orthodox church in Florida. St. George's Antiochian Church grew from a September 1973 question to Metropolitan Philip Saliba about why the city had no Antiochian church. Its mission met in the Syrian-Lebanese Club, the Ramallah-American Club and a Presbyterian church in Riverside; its own church was consecrated in February 1979.

St. Justin the Martyr, an Orthodox Church in America (OCA) parish, held its first service in July 1994 and describes itself as the first church to complete the OCA church planting program. It moved in 2005 to new buildings on Old St. Augustine Road, holds services in English and offers classes for inquirers and prospective converts. Annunciation Russian Speaking Orthodox Church began in 2012 as an outreach of St. Justin the Martyr to Russian immigrants.
