Orthodox Churches in Roslindale, Massachusetts

Holy Epiphany Russian Orthodox Church was founded in Boston in 1951 by displaced persons who entered the United States under the Displaced Persons Act of 1948, together with earlier émigrés. Worship began in a borrowed temporary location, then in a former Methodist church; since 1971 the parish has used its present church at 963 South Street in Roslindale. It belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and marked its 75th anniversary in January 2026.

In the late 1960s and 1970s, several families of Old Calendarist Greeks joined Holy Epiphany, and Americans began attending; many of those Americans later converted to Orthodoxy. After the Soviet Union collapsed, the revival of the Church in its former republics and new freedom of movement brought a large influx of young parishioners. A history of the parish read at its anniversary banquet noted that more and more young Americans had recently been attending. St. Nectarios, a Greek Orthodox parish, dates from the mid-1970s.
