Orthodox Churches in Denver, Colorado

Holy Transfiguration of Christ Orthodox Cathedral stands in Globeville, an old smelter community in north Denver. Carpatho-Rusyn immigrants founded the parish in 1898 as a Greek Catholic church, which entered the Russian Orthodox Church under Bishop Tikhon, later St. Tikhon, who consecrated the building in 1905. The parish's own history calls it Colorado's first Orthodox church. The church became a diocesan cathedral in 1988 and drew immigrants from Romania, Russia, Serbia and Bulgaria after 1990.

Assumption of the Theotokos is the cathedral of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver, established in 1979. The Antiochian Diocese of Wichita and Mid-America includes St. Augustine's, a Western Rite parish in the Baker neighborhood that worships mainly in English in a church built in 1912 by German Lutherans and describes almost all its members as converts, and St. Mark's, which began as an Anglican parish. All Saints of Russia belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and posts its calendar in Russian.
