2. The Orthodox Way by Timothy Ware
A companion to The Orthodox Church, focusing on the spiritual life — God, man, prayer, and the path to theosis.
3. Orthodoxy and Heterodoxy by Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick
A clear-eyed comparison of Orthodoxy with other Christian traditions. Excellent for those coming from a Protestant or Catholic background.
4. For the Life of the World by Fr. Alexander Schmemann
A classic on the sacramental worldview — how the Church sees all of creation as a gift from God, and how the Eucharist transforms our understanding of everything.
5. The Way of a Pilgrim

This is a monastic text and some of its advice is rigorous. Read it for inspiration and broad principles rather than as a literal rule for lay life.
8. Everyday Saints by Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov)
A bestselling collection of stories from a Russian monastery — funny, moving, and deeply human. It shows that holiness is not remote but woven into everyday life.
9. The Mountain of Silence by Kyriacos Markides
